Biome
Biome is Apple's newer activity telemetry framework that stores event streams in SEGB files, progressively replacing knowledgeC.db on macOS.
Biome is Apple's activity-telemetry framework that progressively replaces much of what knowledgeC.db used to record. Instead of one SQLite database, Biome writes events into many named streams (for example App.InFocus), each stored as binary files in the SEGB format, with payloads typically encoded as protobuf.
On macOS, Biome data is found under ~/Library/Biome for user activity and /private/var/db/biome for system-level streams. Stream names, folder layout and the SEGB version can differ between macOS releases, so verify on your target version.
Biome can show which applications were in focus and when, among other user and device events. Parsing support in open-source tools is still maturing. See knowledgeC and Biome.
